This act contains the approval of the Legislative Assembly of the loan contract signed with the World Bank for an amount of US $ 75,100,500.00 (seventy-five million one hundred thousand five hundred dollars), to finance the Sustainable Fisheries Program in Costa Rica.
The Borrower will be the Government of Costa Rica, the Executing Agency being the Costa Rican Fisheries Institute, with a term of 33 and a half years, the standard financial conditions of the Bank and the Program that has four components: a) Institutional strengthening for administration and regulation of the fishing resource; b) a component dedicated to the identification, design and construction of infrastructure to implement value-added chains to the fishing resource and improve the living conditions of the populations that depend on it; c) strengthen the mechanisms of social and environmental sustainability, which mainly includes work with coastal communities, on training issues to improve skills and organization, on productive projects and maintenance of resources; and finally: d) a management component of the loan itself destined to finance the administration of the projects and their implementation.
